Rajasthan is on the path of development and the entire state ministry including officials are working hard for transforming Rajasthan into a shinier and prosperous state. for this reason, the basic requirement of the state is to have an appropriate and phenomenal infrastructure. The central Government is also witnessing the potential that the state of Rajasthan has and therefore, the Union Ministry of Road transport and highways has decided to improve the connectivity between the capital of the state and the capital of the country. The Central ministry has sanctioned Rs. 550 crores for the progression and repair work on the Jaipur-Delhi highway. They form a significant part of the golden quadrilateral and according to experts, this highway has an immense potential to strengthen the trade connectivity. It is so because this route has seen a terrific increase in the industrial activities over the past years.
It is a part of the national highway, and therefore Ministry has given a green signal for the construction of service roads of 440 km adjacent to the highway. This decision has been taken considering that various schools, Universities, Townships and Industrial zones have been constructed along the road.
These announcements were made after a high-level meeting of Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari with the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Rathore, in New Delhi on Tuesday. Rajyavardhan Rathore is a Lok Sabha MP from the Jaipur rural constituency. It was decided in the meeting that the construction of service lanes is set to be completed by the month of December this year and the work on the Shahpura-Paota flyover has already started.
Col. Rathore is a Silver medalist in Olympics and after that has joined BJP and Indian politics. After the meeting, he stated that ” In order to reduce road accidents, 20-foot overbridges would be constructed across the highway.” Also, he added that Ministry has decided to construct parking for trucks around the area of Shahpura so as to reduce congestion on the highway and other problematic issues with water drainage, crush barriers, and main carriageway. these issues are to be cleared so that the free flow of traffic can be ensured.
Col Rathore is aware that NH no. 8 is the “lifeline of Rajasthan” and have a lot of significance in the nearby rural areas of Jaipur. He said, ” The current steps will lead to great improvements in the quality of life in the region and give a fillip to economic activities in the area.”
Other than these two ministers, the meeting was also attended by other senior officers from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways along with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officers and other stakeholders, including the bank officials and contractors.
