At the inaugural session of Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM) in Udaipur, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said that that government is now planning to increase the amount of interest free loan to 75,000 crore in the next 1.5 years. Rajasthan is a state which has huge potential in agricultural sector in the state. Hence, farmers should take benefits of this potential and proceed on the path of development, said CM Raje.
Talking about the efforts taken by Rajasthan government, Smt. Raje further said that interest-free loans worth Rs 57,000 crore have already been disbursed among farmers. She also shared that the former Congress government had distributed only 25000 crore of interest-free loans to farmers.
For agricultural growth of Rajasthan, it is advised to grow medicinal plants along with traditional crops. Even the MoUs signed at GRAM event will help the farmers. These MoUs were signed on horticulture, biogas and agro-processing etc.
At the event, the Union Minister of State for agriculture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that Rajasthan government is actively working to boost the income of farmers. It is expected that income will see a surge by year 2022. He also talked about the implementation of PM crop insurance scheme in which Rajasthan is leading.
The event was successful as farmers, agriculture experts and companies took part in the GRAM Udaipur 2017.
