Recently announced IIT JEE results brought in a piece of good news for the state. The desert state clinched the second position, inching one position higher to third position last year. IIT Madras which conducted the IIT-JEE exams 2017, released the results on Sunday.
The desert state recorded a sharp rise in the students pass percentage. 2017 pass student numbers multiplied by 6 times to the number of students passed in 2016.
These figures specifically encompass performances of five states namely Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Karnataka.
Rajasthan: IIT-JEE result stats
A total of 6,173 students qualified the exams. In other words, 12% of the total number of candidates passed the exam. Nevertheless, the largest state UP recorded the highest number of passing students which rose to 7210 in 2017.
IIT JEE 2017 Results: Rajasthan V/S UP
We can compare the performance of the two states on the basis of the success ratios. While Rajasthan recorded a pass percentage is 1:10 while that of UP is 1:30, as far as the population parameter is concerned.
If we draw a close comparison to other states, Rajasthan still continues to nail it. Andhra Pradesh which has a total population of 4.1 crore boasts of only 3765 qualifiers, while the youngest state Telangana which has a population of 3.5 crore boasts of 3740 qualifiers. Tamil Nadu, on the other hand, has bagged 1179 qualifiers, whereas Karnataka has bagged 1336 qualifiers.
The impressive point to drive home is the fact that despite all setbacks, qualifier numbers in other states is nearly half of Rajasthan qualifiers.
