Rajasthan CM met Union Civil Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha in an attempt to boost state’s Tourism Economy…

First international flight ‘KamaScootra’ connecting Jaipur to Singapore, first intra/interstate flights connecting major Rajasthan districts and installation of new CAT III-B light on airports. It seems Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje will leave no stone unturned to achieve best air connectivity. Having most airports and runways upgraded, now the CM is set on the mission to connect best tourist cities in Rajasthan by air. This is a crucial step for Rajasthan, which is a world-famous tourist destination due to its rich cultural heritage. Recently, the CM met Jayant Sinha, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation in this regard.

What will the state Achieve from Air-Connected Network of Tourists Cities in Rajasthan

In yesterday’s meeting held at New Delhi, Raje stressed on the importance of air connectivity. As per the CM, nearly all the important cities of Rajasthan have a local airport with upgraded air strips. Therefore, the government intends to connect all the small airports under Centre run ‘Udan Yojana‘.

The Centre will launch new flights under ‘Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik‘, coming January. These flights will initially operate between Delhi and Kolkata. Small-sized 9 to 40 seater airplanes will be used for this purpose. The proposed cost of air tickets for these flights is Rs. 2500. With this scheme, the Centre intends to promote air travel among common men.

Considering the far-fetched benefits of this scheme, CM Raje wanted Rajasthan to be a part of it. ‘Udan’ can boost tourism economy up to two times, if the natives start travelling by air. Therefore, CM requested the aviation minister regarding the launch of new air services in Rajasthan cities. She also discussed her plans about linking Jaipur with other international cities. Rajasthan government is already trying to link Jaipur with UAE under the bilateral agreement held with Emirates Air Lines. However, for these plans to be successfully implemented on ground, the airport needs to undergo revamps. Better facilities are required to accommodate the incoming passenger load.

Raje asked the AAI (Airports Authority of India) to allot them a land near VIP terminal at Sanganer airport. She requested the central authorities not to issue NOCs for construction of high-rise buildings near major airports on Udaipur, Jaipur and Jodhpur as it could hamper flight take-offs.

This meeting will result in positive outcomes for the state. With this, Rajasthan government looks forward to better opportunities in tourism.
