Jaipur railway station Gets Revamped with New AC-Waiting Hall, Baby Feeding Room and Separate Chambers for VVIPs and Disabled People…

Located in the capital city of Rajasthan, Jaipur railway station gets a footfall of approximately 90,000 passengers every day. Total 3.38 crore passengers visit this spot on an yearly basis. Government has put in great efforts to provide better platform facilities to the incoming passengers. Adding free high-speed Wi-Fi to station premises was a goal successfully accomplished by railway authorities. Following this digitalization drive, attempts were made to keep rail terminals neat and tidy, in line with Centre’s “Swachh Bharat” program.

Now, to make travel enjoyable and more convenient, Rajasthan government has added a brand new air-conditioned waiting hall for passengers travelling executive class and AC coaches (I, II and III compartments). This new waiting hall ‘Arvind Shar’ was inaugurated on December 5. Key government officials like Jaipur DRM Anjali Goyal, MP Ram Charan Bohra, Social Justice minister Arun Chaturvedi and Mayor Nirmal Nahata participated in the inauguration ceremony yesterday.

Jaipur railway station Boasts Top-notch Facilities of Arvind Shar

CPRO (Chief Public Relations Officer) of north western railways, Tarun Jain gave a detailed description of amenities provided in new waiting room.

According to Jain, ‘Arvind Shar’ will have separate air-conditioned rooms for executive class, Ist and IInd AC compartments. The room will be furnished with ‘baby feeding facilities’ for nursing women. There’s a separate VVIP lounge for celebrities and a comfort room for people with disabilities. The room will display train departure and arrival information on a regular basis. Other than this, a separate waiting hall will be made available for III AC, sleeper and general class passengers on Platform no. 1.

This is an important addition to existing facilities available on platform. The new waiting room will accommodate about 100 passengers at a time. A few seats have been designed to accommodate physically challenged passengers.

Total estimated cost of construction is around 40 lakh INR. This project was completed within 75 days with the intention to provide premium rail services to national and international tourists. The idea is to boost state economy through railway connectivity. The state plans to achieve this goal by constructing similar facilities on other platforms and bus stations.
