Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and BJP President Amit Shah flagged off the Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra from Udaipur’s Charbhuja temple, earlier today. Further, this Yatra will be covering many other temples in various poll-bound divisions.

Apart from the Charbhuja Temple in Udaipur division, the other temples to be covered by Raje include Bharatpur’s Ganesh Temple, Jodhpur’s Tanot Mata Temple, Bikaner’s Salasar Balaji Temple, Kota’s Keshoraipatan, Jaipur’s Paplaj Mata Temple, and lastly Pushkar’s Brahma Temple.

CM Raje is scheduled to visit 165 assembly constituencies by traveling a distance of 6065 kms. Starting from today i.e. 4th August, the Yatra will be concluded at Ajmer division on September 30. During these 40 days, the Chief Minister will also take 18 days’ break in phases depending upon the administrative work and the festivals within this time period.

It’s important to note that the Rath for the Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra is not just an ordinary bus; it’s a luxurious 407 Leyland model fitted with air condition, a bathroom, and an elevator that will help the minister to get to the rooftop and interact with the public.

Visiting temples during electoral campaigns and public dialogues is something that is quite common amongst Indian politicians, from Gujarat polls to Karnataka’s high voltage political battle; temples play a significant role in the journey of these leaders.

As far as CM Raje is concerned, she is also keen on including temples on her Yatra as she has deep faith in her prayers. Earlier in January, she launched her campaign for Ajmer by-elections with a visit to Mansaniya Bhairav Dham temple in Rajgarh. Moreover, it’s interesting to note that Raje has been starting her election campaign from Charbhuja Temple from the past 18 years when she became the CM for the first time.
