Widespread moderate rains showers are continuing over the state of Rajasthan during the monsoon season. Southeast Rajasthan is expected to receive heavy rain-fall as well as thunderstorm in the next 24 to 48 hours.
During the last one day, Kota district has witnessed the record breaking rainfall in the month of august. The district witnessed an enormous rainfall of 193 mm, against the previous all-time highest rainfall of only 122.1 mm for the month of August. The highest rainfall was measured and recorded on August 29, 2011. Also in the past 24 hours, Pali recorded a 24 mm of rainfall and Mount Abu recorded a 34.4 mm of rainfall. On the other hand districts like Jodhpur and Ajmer also received about 4 mm of rainfall each.
Skymet Weather has predicted that more Monsoon rains for Southeast Rajasthan are expected to occur in the next couple of days, whereas East and north eastern parts of Rajasthan will also receive good rain showers in the next 24 to 48 hours time.
This year Rajasthan has received extremely good Monsoon rains as compared to the previous years and the good part is that the state is predicted to continuously receive heavy rainfall in various districts. Till August 7, East Rajasthan has received almost 40% more rains than normal rainfall whereas West Rajasthan has recorded just 1% less rains compared to the normal rainfall.
