The state home minister of Rajasthan Gulab Chand Kataria was lately in the headlines for allegedly using foul language for the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Congress leaders including former Rajasthan Chief Minister demamnded strict actions againt the minister. Well, before that could have settled down, Gulab Chand Kataria while addressing a review meeting at the Zila Parishad in Churu said another statement which made him fall into trouble. He said that the police’s conduct with the common man is not nice but rather is so corrupt that it makes feel bad and fell like he has no right to be the home minister of such a state. He further said that the police’s behaviour towards the people of the state puts him to shame.
The congress without wasting another minute targeted BJP in Rajasthan taking the home minister as a tool. Congress spokesperson and ex-MLA Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said, “The home minister’s admissions show the people have lost faith in the police under the BJP government. His statements prove that there is no governance at all, leave aside the ‘good governance’ the BJP promised before elections.”
Former BJP spokesperson and lawyer Kailash Nath Bhatt also added to the controversy and said, “Sab kuchh Ishwar bharose chal raha hai (Everything is at the God’s mercy).”
