After an astounding success of the first edition in February 2016, Udaipur World International Music Festival gears up for it’s awaited second edition. The captivating event has been scheduled for Feb 10-12, 2017. Rajasthan has become a central hub of dynamic events which showcase vibrant hues, cultural nuances and artistic explorations.

This time, UWMF 2017 will be a three day event which will bring together more than 150 artists​ from over 16 countries including United Kingdom, Italy, South Africa, Senegal, Canada, Armenia, Turkey, Macedonia, Mozambique, Norway, Iran, Cuba, Switzerland and India among other nations to multiple venues across the city of Udaipur.

Music spurs a mind-relieving hymn which touches the heart and soothes the soul. It is a form of art which elevates spirits and lightens the heart. The first day of the UWMF 2017 will kickstart at Gandhi Ground where Iranian American Singer Azam Ali will usher in the spiritual world of Electro Sufi World Music with her music partner Niyaz.

The notable singer known for his top-bollywood numbers, Kailash Kher and Kailasa will spruce up Sufi numbers to spell a the audience with a melody that strikes just the right note. For an international twist, a galaxy of musicians from Mozambique, Norway, Sweden and Zimbabwe Monoswezi will suffice the crowd with a fresh tale of traditional African songs.

On the second day, the festival venue will be all brightened up, given the fact that there are going to be a collection of amazingly phenomenal artists who would grace the audience with their unprecedented charm. The Fateh Sagar Paal lake of Udaipur will create sounds with the magical poetic renditions of Ablaye Cissoko from Senegal who will collaborate with the Constantinople Ensemble from Canada. This collaboration is extremely special as it is for the first time that these two impressive artists are coming together in India.

No body is ready to see off good-bye to this marvellous festival. Every music lover gears up to witness the Music Magic for the final day. The final day will kickstart with the Fateh Sagar Paal with Brazilian songs, Afro-Cuban rhythms and Jazz renditions of the classy Swiss-Cuban musician Yilian Canizares.

The festival will conclude in the evening at Gandhi Ground with three performances—Italian band Officina Zoe will navigate you to the world of trance with the Trance Therapy Music of Taranta; guitarist and composer Dhruv Ghanekar’s new project Dhruv Voyage will join force with some of the exciting musicians in the country and London Community Gospel Choir will give the festival a fitting spiritual finale.

Udaipur World Music Festival, presented by Hindustan Zinc in association with Wonder Cement and Rajasthan Tourism and conceptualized and produced by SEHER will take place from February 10 to 12, 2017.

To add to the extreme extravaganza, Kabir Café will leave an impression on the audience. Kabir Café celebrates the great Saint Kabir’s writings. In evening, Gandhi Ground will spell life-filled renditions with up-beat rock numbers of Indian band Parvaaz and South African World Music band Hot Water. The day will conclude with a vivacious performance by Bangalore based folk-cum-fusion band, Swarathma.

This multi-venue music festival, cutting across several genres of music will usher in more than 100 global artists and ensembles from over 12 countries including Spain, Ghana, Venezuela, Italy, France and India among many others. Amusingly, this festival also marks the celebrations of 60 years of the diplomatic relations between Spain and India.
