The annual event of Udaipur Bird Festival is going to organize bird race for the very first time. The event will be inaugurated on 23rd and will go on until 25th December. However, prior to this, the bird race will be held on 22nd December. This is the 4th edition of the bird festival which will have bird race as its major attraction for tourists and visitors.
Talking about the bird race, the bird lovers participating in the event will be divided into 6 groups, each having 5 members and one of them will lead the group. The participants will be required to submit their names by 21st December and then the teams will be provided with manual, bird logbook, and vehicles.

On the next day, i.e. 22nd December, teams will depart to the water bodies located around 40 km radius of the city for the bird race. The teams will explore the area for birds and will try to gather as much information as possible. At 6 o’clock in the evening, they will hand over the log books to the jury.
After this, the jury will declare the winner on the basis of the information stored in the logbook. The team with maximum information about maximum bird species will win the contest. Apart from the bird race, the Udaipur Bird Festival will also have other programs throughout the 3-day schedule. There will be bird watching, competitions for kids, photo exhibition, workshops, and seminar. Reports suggest that this iteration of the festival is going to be quite grand and will be carried out on a larger scale as compared to the earlier versions.
