Fog

The extreme denseness of fog in Delhi and nearby Haryana areas has greatly impacted the nearby  Jaipur airport area. At 10, in early morning Delhi en-routed flights were sent to Jaipur. There were seen droves of passengers at loggerheads with this instant airport operations. Till the flights took off for capital Delhi, there was constant hullaballoo on the airport. Also, more than half a dozen trains arriving from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar and Haryana faced delay because of extreme fog.

Also, in the areas of Jaipur outskirts, light fog was reported. Reportedly, this was the first fog of the season.

This fog season has been reported in most parts of Northern India, which includes Delhi-NCR. On this Wednesday, this was reported as first most dense fog of this winter. The weather was fairly clear from past some days and on Wednesday Delhi experienced extremely dense fog of the season. This was some steep fall in temperature causing chill in the atmosphere. There was fall in visibility in the National Capital Region which causes slow movements of vehicles and affected rail and air traffic.

However, the introduction of CAT IIIB system will bring the clarity on Jaipur runway. The aircrafts compliant with CAT IIIB with trained staff will support the dense foggy conditions. This will be an advanced landing and navigation system. A main official at airport said, “Jaipur Airport will become CAT-IIIB compliant from 5 AM of December 8”.

The heavy fog is matter of concern, likely causing unexpected road and air mis-happenings. In that, the CAT IIIB is a huge relief system, lowering the risks almost to null.

The recent diversion of flights from Delhi to Jaipur may likely give some monetary benefits to Rajasthan tourism which is running into dearth. We just hope this fog season brings more of prosperity in place of unwelcoming situations.
