  • Bhangarh Fort, AlwarBhangarh Fort, Alwar

Not only national, the haunted Bhangarh is famous internationally for its horror stories. There are thousands of people who have seen, felt or claim to experience some supernatural phenomena in the premises. Located near Alwar city of Rajasthan, the local legends says that an evil magician had fallen for the princess of Bhangarh. But the princess refused the feelings leading to the death of the magician. It is believed that while dying, the evil magician had cursed the fort to die a brutal death. Eventually, this happened and now the people feel that the spirits of those villagers haunt the place and kill anyone who spends a night inside the fort.

  • Brijraj Bhawan, KotaBrijraj Bhawan, Kota

This is a not so famous place but is supposed to be an equally haunted place to Bhangarh when turned as the Heritage Hotel Brij Raj Bhavan. The story of the palace is that the owner was a British Major who was killed by his soldiers during the mutiny of 1857. After his death, the servants of the house and other people living there claimed to have seen his ghost and hear his boots and voice in the corridors. He loved discipline and some guards also reported that they were slapped if they dozed during their shift. Now, as the hotel is converted into a hotel, yet people are scared to spend time there.

  • Kuldhara Village, near JaisalmerKuldhara Village, near Jaisalmer

Located near a hot tourist destination, Jaisalmer, the story of this village is as spooky as it is intriguing. The place is said to be inhabited by Paliwal Brahmins until the day it was deserted overnight. Nearby people have different theories about it but the place remains deserted till now. Visitors here claim sudden supernatural happenings like creepy chills, scratches on cars and strange footprints.

  • Chand Baori, AbhaneriChand Baori, Abhaneri

The place is over a thousand years old and is being beautifully filmed in several movies. It is a world famous structure as it is the deepest stepwell in India. Though it was built during the Chauhan Dynasty but local legends depict its construction overnight by ghosts. They are said to visit this place often and do mischief. People claim to see someone at the bottom of the stairs and disappear in a blink. It makes Chand Baori, a haunted place which should not be missed while your visit in Rajasthan.

  • Rana Kumbha Palace, ChittorgarhRana Kumbha Palace, Chittorgarh

The weird occurrences and ruined figures of the palace would surely give you chills through your spine, being one of the haunted places of Rajasthan. The stories told that on foreign invasion and conquer of the palace, Rani Padmini and other females have committed suicide by jumping into the fire. It is one of the oldest traditions of Rajasthan known as ‘Johar’. This tradition is not followed anymore but visitors claim to hear screams of ladies begging for help in the palace. Some even saw half-burnt women in the palace passages.
