The students of Alwar’s ‘Train Styled’ Senior Secondary School will soon be getting a free trip to visit New Delhi’s Rail Museum. This information was given by a senior officer of northwestern railway who visited the school on May 8. This school in Alwar is frequently visited by people because of the fact that it’s painted in the style of a train.

The classrooms are painted like passenger compartments while the Principal’s office is painted like an engine. The verandah of the school is painted like a platform where students hang out.

Among the stream of visitors, the school was recently visited by Deputy Chief Environment and house Keeping Manager of the NWR Shashi Kiran. Impressed by the design and creative painting, the officer immediately contacted the Director of Rail Museum and arranged a free trip for the students to the museum.

He said that the students deserve this gift as the school and education department has done a commendable work of popularizing Indian Rail. The Principal of the school Purushottam Gupta received a call from the Director and had a word about the visit. However, the school is currently closed for summer vacation hence the trip will be scheduled in July.

Reportedly, the district education department is currently preparing a report on innovation that will be submitted to the Ministry of Human Resources Development. As per Additional District Education Officer, the infrastructure of the school can reduce the dropout rate of students.

The design of the school is inspired from a school in Kerala that is painted like a Rail coach and this observation was made by the Junior Engineer of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyaan Rajesh Lawania. The school was transformed from dull yellow walls to vibrant blue with the efforts of RDNC Mittal Foundation that adopted the school 4 years ago.
