van-mahotsav

The man has a close relationship with nature since the dawn of civilization. Nature helps us in many ways.  Similarly, trees are closely related to our lives and economy. But only planting the trees is not enough. We must be particular about the after care of the planted trees too.

Global warming has become a threat to all mankind. It is now one of the most primary concerns of our civilized world. The trees around us are extremely important and have always played a necessary role in improving the human condition. We must plant trees instead of cutting it. They are our breath, our life and the future of our next generation.

Van Mahotsav or the Forest Day was started as a crusade with the purpose of saving the mother earth. The main aim of this initiative is to make every citizen of India plant a sapling. Besides this awareness campaigns about the benefits and protection of the trees and the harm caused by cutting them down are also held.

This year the royal state of Rajasthan celebrated its 68th Van Mahotsav.   The program was held on July 10 with full enthusiasm across the state, district, block and gram panchayat level with the focus on water conservation and sustainable development of the environment.

The state level Van Mahotsav was held at Beed Govindpura in Jaipur district on July 10, where chief minister Vasundhara Raje ji was the chief guest. Along with her Minister of Forest and Environment Gajendra Singh Khimsar and other senior officials and employees from Forest, Environment, Police and Civil Administration were present on the occasion.

Vasundhara Raje ji stated that the second phase of Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan (MJSA-2) will be implemented in 4200 villages, to enhance water security and livelihood resilience in the water-scarce state. Besides this, it also includes the creation of 1 lakh water conservation structures. 60 lakh plants are also to be planted to increase the green cover in the state.  Till now 15 lakh plants were planted across the state, district, block, and gram panchayat level. State government and other civic bodies also supply saplings to schools, colleges, and other academic institutions.

Central Minister of Forest, Environment, and Water Dr. Harshvardhan stated that this initiative taken by the state government will not only help in the sustainable development of the environment but will also serve as a desirable model across the world.

Thus the Van Mahotsav festival of trees is a beautiful initiative to save the environment

So let’s guarantee to make this earth a greener and cleaner planet. Let us start digging and bury a seed for the creation of every forest starts with a single seed.
