Swine flu was detected in six persons in the Rajasthan on Friday, out of which 3 persons hailed from Jaipur. Reportedly, since January, as many as eight people have been tested positive for H1N1 influenza.

On a cautious note, the health department also issued an advisory note to the people to be on alert and stay protected from various infections and filthy surroundings. The note said, “If anyone has swine flu like symptoms, consult the doctor immediately,” a health department official said.

An official closely involved in this matter also informed that swine flu will be on an upswing in December and January, however a steep fall is observed in March.
The report also said, “People must take precautions and give due importance to personal hygiene and ward off the risk of swine flu.”

Amongst the 5 people who were detected with Swine Flu was a 55-year-old woman. “She was in contact with the infected person as they live in the same house. She is now undergoing treatment in a private hospital,” Dr Narrottam Sharma, chief medical health officer, Jaipur, said.

Sharma also informed that a survey of 50 neighbouring houses of patients was also conducted. It was also found that these neighbours were also also found with Flu.
“We have distributed Tamiflu tablets to those who were in contact with swine flu patients,” Dr Sharma added.

Officials said that five persons have died due to swine flu since January 2017.

As per the department’s official figures, 101 persons have undergone flu tests in the state this year. Out of 101 persons, 24 who tested positive since January, while 77 of them were tested negative.

Ajmer reported 4, Nagaur 1, Churu 1, Hanumangarh 2, Jaipur 8, Jodhpur 4 and Pali, Kota and Rajsamand reported one each as positive.
