Several artisans from Bayana town of Bharatpur are busy carving stones imported from Turkey. Reportedly, these will be used in building the Akshardham Temple at Robbinsville city in the US state of New Jersey. Apart from Bharatpur’s Bayana, artisans from Bhandarez in Dausa have also been instructed to work on the stone carving. The temple is being constructed by the Swaminarayan Temple Trust of Ahmedabad.

Other than New Jersey, several other temples will be built at other places for which the temple administration has approached at least 30 artisans. Help is also being provided by artisans in Sirohi’s Pindwara city. As per the sources, there are different types of works involved in the construction and the man force has been chosen suiting the type of work required by the administration.

While Dausa artisans are good at carving the idols, those from Sirohi and Bayana have been appointed to carve designs on the interior and exterior portions of the temple. Since it’s not feasible for the administration to take the workers all the way to the US, the stones are being imported and carved after which these will be assembled for the construction.

Talking about the chain of Swaminarayan Akshardham temple, there are not just several temples across India at Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, etc but abroad as well including places like Australia, Canada, USA, etc. All these temples are devoted to Lord Krishna and feature intricate stone carvings with a shrine at the center. Several devotees visit these temples not just to worship but also to witness the magnificent architecture of these buildings.
