India Cram School Dreams

The Rajasthan University is an eminent name in research field and education. The colleges under it have a multilayered system which is fabricated by peer groups, counselors and teachers to deal with the stress.

In last 15 days, the university witnessed two suicide cases in its colleges which are affiliated under RU (Rajasthan University). But, this system failed to curb these extreme conditions of exam pressure in the state.

As reports said, Komal Prajapath, who was a BA student of first year from Maharani College, ended her life back on Thursday. Another such case was with Shamsheer Singh, who was a BBA student from Commerce College who committed suicide previous week because of no clear reasons. Although, there are no solid proves, but the prima facie of the reports suggest stress as the main cause.

Also, the police have not yet submitted the final report on it. Both of these unfortunate students were hostellers and away from home. They faced a non-stop critical observation from teachers and counselors and thus faced an unbearing pressure.

Rashmi Jain, the vide-principal of Maharani College mentioned, “We have a multilayered system to counter stress and detect students who are facing it”.

But, despite this practice, these incidents seem to castaway all the efforts. S S Nathawat, who is a considerable psychologist, demands of introducing changes in the ongoing system for neutralizing stress. Nathawat says, “Girls find it difficult to express themselves, especially those who stay away from parents in hostels or rented accommodation. In fact, girls are often judged by her academic performance in our conservative society. This has intensified competition among them, leading to stress”.

To deal with this, RU’s public relations even considered the reforms which are required to curb the stress. To conduct this, they will be having  a mingled study by sociology and psychology department. This will help them curb the root-cause of these preceding suicide cases.

They are speculating more deeper problems faced by these students which drove then emotionally to commit the sin.
