On 14th June, 2018, the inauguration of multi-product SEZ held at Mahindra World City, Jaipur. Rajasthan Minister for Industries Rajpal Singh Shekhawat inaugurated this facility. On this launch, he said that Rajasthan’s policies are focused on meeting the emerging needs of businesses and citizens. He also called this opening a contribution to ‘Make in India’ vision of Modi government. With this launch, the state of Rajasthan will now generate more employment for Rajasthan and boost economy of the state.

There are also plans that an additional investment of Rs 3000 crore will be made multiproduct SEZ in next five years. With the multi-product SEZ, several other industries like auto ancillaries, food processing, processed construction materials, ESDM, medical devices, apparel, gems and jewellery etc. would be able to generate employment. While, currently, the operational sectors at MWC Jaipur are IT, engineering and handicrafts.

The chairman of Mahindra lifespace Developers ltd Arun Nanda called that multi-product SEZ would be helpful in socio-economic development in the region via exports. In fact, it is a great step towards realizing Rajasthan true growth potential.

Details about Mahindra World City
Mahindra World City spreads over a 3,000-acre integrated business city. This area comprises a domestic tariff area, multi-product SEZ and the upcoming social and residential infrastructure. It is basically a joint venture between MlDl and RIICO. As of March 31, 2018, 81 companies have been signed out of which 49 are already operational.
