Started on 25th July midnight, the strike by employees of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) and Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) has been called off. The strike was done as there are certain demands of various organizations of RSRTC and other unions. The strike was ended on Friday night i.e. 27th July. This strike brought the life of daily passengers in trouble as they were suffering due to non-operation of buses. After the talks between Rajasthan transport minister Yunus Khan, roadways officials and union members, the strike was called off by RSRTC.

Know the demands of RSRTC employees
The demands were filling of 9000 posts, procurement of new buses, implementation of provisions of 7th pay commission for employees, repairing of tickets dispensing machines in buses, parking of private buses and lok parivahan should not be allowed within 5 km of bus stands and benefits to be given to retired employees.

After the talks, Rajasthan government accepted the demands of the employees and assured them the benefits of 7th pay commission, filling the vacant positions in RSRTC, replacing the old buses, benefits to retired employees and many others.

There are almost 4800 buses and carry almost 10 lac passengers every day. With the strike of roadways, thousands of commuters faced issues. In absence of roadways transportation, the private bus operators charged excess fares and harassed the passengers. In fact, the Lok parivahan buses were in profit too as commuters have been left with no choice but to travel on them.
