Lalit Modi finds his ways of making it to the headlines every now and then. This time, he has got some new plans for Indian and Rajasthan Cricket as the Chairman of Rajasthan Cricket Association. Lalit Modi might be banned for a lifetime from the Indian Cricket but his creative mind now goes on the track of launching ‘Rajasthan Premier League’ which would be a T20 league for the domestic cricketers of the state. But this is not it, what is alarming the corridors of BCCI is that RPL is also planning and working out to feature some of the recently retired international superstars of the sport.

Lalit Modi is known for his pure charismatic skills and his sense of business that lures people towards his idea. Not to forget that IPL was his game plan. Though RPL would not be a unique idea being Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have already such state-level leagues going on. But, if Modi is successful in bringing the recent stars of IPL as well as international retired superstars, it would be a mega start of something big. His plans to host the superstars of the sport will bring the glittering lights in the state.

RCA’s planning are in the pipeline to finalize the broadcasting deals with Ten Sports and also, he is yet to take a ‘No Objection’ certificate from the BCCI, it is assumed that the deal will be finalized in the coming few days. RCA secretary Sumendra Tiwary confirmed that a T20 league is in the process, and said that it would give more exposure to the domestic players. “It’s in the planning stage and though nothing has been finalized yet, we will decide soon whether to have a T20 league or not. The talks are on,” Tiwary’s take on the matter. However, RCA officials are tight-lipped about the presence of foreign stars for now, but also; they are not ruling it out for the time.
