The nomination process has begun for Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2018.

Ahead of assembly elections next month, the process for filing nomination papers for 200 assembly seats has begun from Monday. The nomination papers will be filed from 11 am to 3 pm at the Collectorate office in Jaipur. The last date of filing nomination is November 19.

Rajasthan BJP has released their first list of candidate in the mid-night of Sunday, hours before the start of the nomination process.

According to Chief Electoral Officer Anand Kumar, scrutiny will take place on November 20 and nominations can be withdrawn by November 22.

Nomination process under the firm security

Considering the rush at the collectorate office during the process, Jaipur police has got the security duty. Jaipur Additional DCP Ratan Singh, who has been appointed as Nodal Officer by the state EC, has been given the responsibility. In addition, a team of 4 ACPs and 10 SHOs has been organized under DCP Singh’s supervision.

Therefore, more than 200 policemen will guard the 4 main and one channel gate of Collectorate Office. As the nomination process will run for 8 days, Jaipur police have to check the security 24/7 at the office.

After BJP, all the party will be announcing their candidate names and then the nominations will be filled. BJP’s second list of the candidates will be out within two days. Congress is also on the verge of deciding their candidate names. Polling will take place on December 7 and results will be announced on December 11.
