Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan has already shown a remarkable growth in sex ratio. This district of Rajasthan is making to headlines again. This time it has achieved remarkable growth in girl’s education. This district has been considered in the list of districts with higher girl education across India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised the success of Jhunjhunu in his “Mann Ki Baat” show.

Reasons for the success of this campaign
It seems to be result of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign which is well adopted by Jhunhjunu. Other reason is ‘Apna Bacha Apna Vidyalaya’ campaign. Apart from this campaign, few more campaigns were started to improve the girl education. Due to these campaigns, 50000 new girls join the school.

There were campaigns like door to door campaign, lunch with Ladli, collector’s dialogue program in night chaupals and collector ki kursi etc. To encourage girls taking education, girls who got more than 90 percent marks were also made collector for one day.

What was the previous sex ratio in Jhunjhunu?
Talking about the sex ratio, it was the 837 girls per 1,000 boys in 2011 which was the lowest in Rajasthan. After the implementation of this campaign, it has reached 955 girls per 1,000 boys.
