The residents of Rajasthan can easily link their phone number to Aadhar card as leading telecom operator Vodafone is providing this facility from door-to-door. The two mobile vans of Vodafone travel to the villages and smaller towns of Rajasthan for this purpose. This facility had been started in January this year. Under this programme, more 450 villages have been covered till now.

Vodafone India is under the process of upgrading their existing sim cards to 4G and getting them linked to Aadhaar numbers nationwide. The Supreme Court also made it mandatory to link mobile phones in the country with Aadhaar card by February 2018.

In fact, Amit Bedi, business head- Rajasthan, Vodafone India said that Vodafone is inviting rural Rajasthan to utilize the benefits provided by the Vodafone Mobile vans.These Mobile Vans of Vodafone will ensure that existing 2G/3G customers can be able to enjoy the benefits of Vodafone SuperNetTM 4G with free SIM upgrade done at their doorstep. He further added that the linking SIM number with the customer’s Aadhaar is an important step in line with Vodafone’s commitment to a Digital India. He also appreciated the efforts made by his company for linking SIMs with Aadhaar number.

New methods to link Aadhar Card
Now, this linking can be done online on telecom service provider’s website and also using telco’s voice-based IVR helpline from December 1. As the linking of sim with Aadhar card has been made compulsory hence the government had also announced new methods for the same. This way, subscribers can get their Aadhar cards linked without any trouble.

Hence, this initiative of Vodafone in Rajasthan will ease the linking for Vodafone users.
