At a state-level conference, the charter of demands was placed before the political parties. It was presented by over 200 children and representatives of more than 100 organizations. These children placed their demand before the political parties for including crucial issues in the manifestos of parties. Children from Rajasthan who would be eligible for voting after few years presented the charter.

These demands came out after a series of seven workshops organized at all the divisional headquarters since August 31. It came out from Vijay Goyal of Resource Institute for Human Rights (RIHR), organizer of the campaign with support from UNICEF that without effective intervention for improving situation of children, they can’t become responsible.

What are the demands of children?
It includes education, protection, development at Anganwadi Centres, health care services in the government hospitals, implementation of laws and programs for their welfare and their regular interaction with the elected representatives and political leaders.

Know the other demands presented by children
On this occasion, children including the deaf and dumb students of schools and colleges also raised the critical issues. These issues were affecting their growth and development. These children also discussed the basic rights which are being denied to girls like education and children forced into unwanted marriages at the tender age.

Political parties and their response
The demands of the children were supported by the political leaders who were present on the occasion. They assured to include children’s issues in their manifestos.
