Rajasthan Board
The first day of Board exam started off with rumours regarding paper leak.

Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education’s class XII examinations started off with rumours of paper leaks today. Amidst great excitement and fears, the students were all set to take their first examination, which was English. Within half an hour of starting the examinations, all the social networks were flooded with rumours regarding paper leaks. A few websites displayed a soft copy of the English paper.

The rumour stirred a controversy in state, with board officers springing up to action. When a few users accused the board for its lanky arrangements, the officers delved into this matter. They visited individual exam centres to investigate if the paper published on the internet is in circulation.

The first day of Board exam started off with rumours regarding paper leak.

Board president Professor B.L. Chaudhary inspected the exam centres in Nagaur and Pushkar. Meanwhile, a team of officers contacted examination centres in Kota and Udaipur to find out the truth.

A few teachers checked various websites and sent a copy of papers in circulation to the members of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education. After the board members studied the paper, it was revealed that the paper in circulation was printed in yellow coloured sheets. On the contrary, this year’s question paper was printed on sky blue sheets. The question paper that was viral on the internet was of the year 2015.

Some pranksters had photoshopped 2015’s question papers to mislead the government. They had circulated it all over the internet to mislead the board members, in the hopes of getting today’s paper cancelled or postponed to a later date.

Although the paper was conducted without any hassles, it did enhance the burden on board teachers and examiners. The scheduled time of examination was sharp at 8:30 am however; many students reached the centres at 7 or 7:30. It took them a while to search for their seating arrangements. Thereafter, many students were directed to the exam hall, where they occupied their seats.

In this case, had the rumour been true, it would’ve been really difficult for the examiners to prepare another paper at such a short notice. Luckily, it was just a prank and the paper was successfully conducted at the centres. Though, they don’t want to take any risks now. They’ll be keeping an eye on the social networks to avoid such confusions in future.
