The Monsoon session of Rajasthan Assembly will begin today and the ruling party will try to ratify the most talked about GST bill soon. Till date, altogether 14 states have ratified the bill including Assam, Goa, Maharashtra, Telangana, Gujarat, etc. The Goods and Service Tax Bill is considered to bring a great revolution in the Indian economy and thus have been passed with huge majority votes counting 203 in numbers. GST will be a roll out of the tax reform and will bring a uniform tax regime in the entire country by subsuming all state levies. It will create a common market in India without any borders.

It is a common bill to cover all the taxation policies regarding the taxation framework of Goods and Service tax in India. After being unanimously passed in the Lok Sabha, it is now the turn off State Governments’ to ratify the Bill.

Rajasthan will now soon join the list of states who have ratified the GST bill by clearing it in the monsoon session which is about to begin in the state Legislative Assembly on Thursday, September 1, 2016.

But the opposition has beforehand clarified that they would be giving a hard time to the ruling party on the issues of deaths of bovine in Hingonia Gaushala, the corruption in Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and the mining departments along with the land acquisition dispute between Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) and the ex-rulers of Jaipur.

The Opposition Congress will try its best to hamper the working of the Legislative Assembly or try to environ Government over above said issues and not pass the GST bill. Meanwhile, the agenda of House would be decided in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting and there are huge chances that the assembly would take up the GST passed by Parliament for ratification, as described by an official of the Chief whip office.

To deal with this, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje advised her MLAs to maintain the decorum of the house and doesn’t get intimidated. In a meeting, parliamentary affairs minister Rajendra Rathore and home minister Gulab Chand Kataria discussed with the MLAs about the achievements of the state Government to be highlighted in the assembly.

As told by the Leader of Opposition (Congress) Rameshwar Dudi, the opposition would try to encircle government over Hingonia case and demand an open debate on the issue.
