Padmavati movie has been in controversy since the time of making. In fact, due to continuous protest over the movie, the release date of the movie is postponed for the time being. There are claims by Karni Rajput community that the movie has shown distorted facts.

Recently, the head of former royal family of Mewar, Mahendra Singh Mewar has written a letter to the Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. He was annoyed with Prasoon Joshi, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairperson for giving approval to the movie Padmavati. This letter has been written a day after the censor board said it would clear the controversial Bollywood film Padmavati with certain changes.

In this letter, he questioned CBFC’s intentions and role. He called the workings of censor board “ignoble and unprofessional” and also demanded the removal of Mr Prasoon Joshi. There are other things mentioned in the letter as one set of panelists was invited and then the film was clandestinely shown to another set.

Apart from this, it also stated that false impression is created that the panelists who have seen the film are in agreement with the movie being released with the above stated modifications. But the situation is that none of the panelists is in agreement with the film.
