New buses under Rajasthan's Mahila Gaurav Express Project, to have panic button and CCTVs

Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari has said that from the month of June, “It will soon be mandatory for all buses to have safety features like a panic button, vehicle tracking system and closed-circuit television.”

The minister made this announcement at an event in Bikaner House in Delhi where he inaugurated 20 new buses for the Rajasthan government under the Mahila Gaurav Express project.

Rajasthan’s Transport Minister, Yunus Khan, who was also present on the occasion, said, “The button has been placed next above the door in the front of the bus. Pressing it will send a message to a control room in Jaipur, mentioning the bus registration number and its location. The nearest police station will then be alerted.”
