Unlike previous times, the desert state is no longer a deprived state. The state which was projected as anti-girl place in several Bollywood movies, the visionary schemes of CM Raje has transformed that mundane image. Mukhyamantri Shubh Laxmi Yojana is one such attempt towards empowering girls of the state. The scheme is dedicated towards providing an amount of Rs. 7300 to every new born girl in the state. This is a big move in the developmental history of Rajasthan where sometime back a girl child used to be  taken as doom. The scheme is getting quite a popularity in the state, as this is inclined towards welfare of the girl child.

The state government prevailed this scheme to put a halt at girl children and mother deaths. Though, the scheme was initially introduced by previous government, Raje government made some necessary changes in this scheme, making it more sufficient.

In the budget session 2016-17, CM Raje made this scheme applicable from June 1st. From that date, the girls born after these dates will be entitled to receive a sum of Rs. 2100 at the time of birth. This amount will be provided from the related nursing home. After the girl will be ready for education, the mother will receive Rs. 3100.  Mr. Navin Jain, who is mission director of National Health Mission, clarified that, only native women of Rajasthan will be entitled to receive this amount.

He also clarified that, the remaining installments of this scheme will be payable through women and child development rules.  The scheme also have provision for girl’s marriage under which the parents of the girl will receive a sum of Rs. 7300 at the time of her marriage.

Ever since, the scheme has been applied in the state, it has flourished the levels of girl population in the state.
