cow transporter rajasthan

In BJP-ruled Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district, an aggressive mob of around 150 people bashed three alleged cow transporters and also stripped one among them naked on Tuesday. Reports told that the state police and suspected members of Bajrang Dal and few alleged members of the cow protection vigilante group Gau Raksha Samiti seized two trucks at a national highway with 96 bullocks. The animals were purportedly meant for some slaughter houses in Maharashtra and Gujarat and were brought from districts Ajmer and Jaipur.

The members of Gau Raksha Samiti and Bajrang Dal then allegedly bashed the three reported cow transporters and also stripped one of them naked. Kalu Ram Rawat, SP, Pratapgarh who reached the location as soon as was informed, said, “Two of the transporters were nabbed by police and saved from vigilantes, one escaped and one was beaten up by the mob.”

“Bajrang Dal members got to know of the incoming truck and a mob, including common men, had gathered. The truck tried to escape but police and Bajrang Dal members caught up with it. We tried to take the transporters into custody but the mob beat them up and stripped one of them,” SHO Chand said. he added, ““Four among the 52 bovine being transported —- their legs were tied and they were crammed on either side of a horizontal partition —- had died. This angered the mob, who beat them up. They also attacked police, injuring some policemen, and tried to set fire to the truck.”

Now an FIR has also been launched against the mob.
