The farmers’ wing of BJP government in Rajasthan recently decided to organize a series of Kisan Chaupals across the state. These meetings are aimed at discussing the schemes chalked out in the best interest of the farmers. Starting from 20th September, these Chaupals (gatherings) will continue till 25th September in the village panchayats of all the districts of the state.

In order to disseminate important details to the speakers at these Chaupals, a training programme was held in Jaipur on Monday. Apart from the members of the state BJP mandals, the meet witnessed participation of the district presidents and other office bearers.

Addressed by State Agriculture Minister Mr. Prabhu Lal Saini and State Co-Operatives Minister Mr. Ajay Singh Kilak, this training program informed the participants about various government schemes favoring the farmers’ community. The list of such schemes comprised loan facilities, soil testing, weather-based crop insurance scheme, crop storage facilities, and modified national agricultural insurance scheme.

As per the State Agriculture Minister, various benefits and schemes have been introduced by both state and central government but many people are still unaware of the details. Therefore, these Chaupals are going to be targeted towards reaching out to every farmer in every village of the state and informing them about the necessary details.

Recently, the Rajasthan government formed a committee to waive off farmers’ loans of up to INR 50,000 in order to address their demands and now it has come up with the plan of organizing Kisan Chaupals. Besides, the State Kisan Morcha has also launched its website containing notable information about agricultural schemes.

Apparently, the state is quite determined to take care of the farmers’ grievances after their recent 13-day long agitation in Sikar.
