Monday was an auspicious day for Rajasthan for in the capital city Jaipur,  as JDA  launched “Jaipur App”. The application is undoubtedly a pioneer, multipurpose application for the tourists as well as dwellers. With the facet of this app, Jaipur has become first city to provide multiple urban facilities. As per the statements of an official, users will be able to book movie tickets, do hotels bookings, gather information about trips, spots and eateries and will also be able to check available flights and trains with PNR status.

Following the footpath of PM Modi, CM Vasundhara Raje has carved new milestones on digitalization of the Rajasthan cities. On Monday, CM Raje also inaugurated NOC (Network Operation Centre) at the JDA under the Lighthouse project of Cisco.

This initiation has brought the Pink City into the limelight for it is the first city in the country and in South Asia to centrally operate, control and manage smart city infrastructure with a single network. During the event, John Chambers (Executive chairman of Cisco) and JDC, Vaibhav Galaria briefed the CM of the newly introduced digital infrastructure in the city. At the event, Srichand Kriplani (the urban development and housing minister) was also present.

He mentioned it like, “Residents will be informed about real-time parking availability, shopping venues, working status of smart lights, pollution levels, and important services like fire, ambulance and blood banks. They can participate in e-auctions, recharge mobile and lodge civic complaints”.

The app interface is organised yet conventional, consisting of all possible information about the city. This light application will hardly affect your phone storage bars. The first page consists of a list your priorities which includes weather, city map, must visit places of city, hotels, emergency, restaurants and autogas.

The app is not less than “a serving on a silver platter” for both dwellers and explorers of the city.
