India’s first metro station art gallery to be built at Chopad metro station in Jaipur. Rajasthan archeological, heritage and cultural artifacts will be displayed in this gallery. Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) is working swiftly to meet the deadline for setting the inauguration on August 15, by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Ths gallery is a part of Rajasthan Government’s Jaipur Metro Phase-2 expansion. About 5 crore budget has spent to build the gallery.

Taking some inspiration from foreign countries, JMRC will showcase the old archeological finding form the old walled city. Artifact from other parts of the state will also be displayed. JMRC team is renovating step-wells at Bari and Chotti Chopad as the part of the metro expansion. The art gallery will be at first level of Chotti Chopad step-well, which will also have a passes to connect both crossroads. This plan is on the verge of completion and is being regularly inspected by chief managing director Pawan Goyal.

On the occasion of Independence Day anniversary, the metro station art gallery will be inaugurated by CM Raje and after that, it will be opened for visitors. This art gallery is going to be another modern-heritage tourist attraction in the pink city. Before this, the city has one more free entry art gallery at Amar Jawan Jyoti, which displays the glory of Indian Armed forces and miniature presentation of war scenes.
