Elections are scheduled in five Indian states namely Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. In all the states, the preparations for the Assembly elections are on full swing. Talking about the state of Rajasthan, elections will be held on 7th December. In the state, there are two major contenders which are BJP and Congress. Considering the concept of women empowerment, the parties also involve women in contesting elections. It is very important for both the parties to empower women. Usually, women candidates are not given tickets for elections in Rajasthan. But, Rajasthan BJP now wants to change this trend.

For Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2018, BJP Mahila Morcha wants the party to give tickets to at least one female in every district. Similarly, Congress female leaders in the state are demanding 33 per cent of the tickets.

Talking about the previous Assembly elections, BJP had given opportunity to women to contest elections on 26 seats out of 200 assembly seats across the state. On the other hand, Congress had given tickets to women only in 24 seats.
