Diwali Shops to be excluded from Challans from Jaipur Municipal Corporation

The temporary Diwali shops set up by small traders will be free from any charges or penalties during this festive season. The Jaipur Municipal Corporation has decided not to impose any challan on the shopkeepers for selling goods or advertising outside their shops.

In a recent report, it has been stated that owing to the arrival of Diwali, the city traders are allowed to display products and sell advertisements outside their shops. As revealed by Mayor Ashok Lahoti, from October 10 to October 22, 2017, shopkeepers have the temporary provision of displaying advertisements, banners, billboards, etc by extending the shop area. During this time period no carrying charges, advertisement charges, or penalties will be imposed.

However, the only prohibited activity is to litter on the roads and the use of polythene bags. The authorities have warned the traders to be careful about the cleanliness of the roads and polythene carry bags have been banned.
It’s worth noting that many people resort to the sale of hand-made decorative and other festive materials as an additional source of income. Handmade diyas, lightings, and other decoratives are sold during the onset of festivals.

In such a situation, the imposition of charges and penalties can be troublesome for traders who rely on these occasions to earn some additional money. So, by relieving traders and shopkeepers, the authorities are making sure that the small business holders don’t suffer because of the rules.

A temporary relaxation of the rules can sometimes go a long way in ensuring the well being of the citizens’ economic conditions. As far as the festive season is concerned, the entire country celebrates Diwali with great enthusiasm. And if we talk about India, no festival is complete without decoration and shopping.
