Days after the fatal gas cylinder blast took place in Beawar; the administration has swung into action against the illegal use of cooking gas cylinders. Reportedly, the administration along with the police is now keeping a check on the refilling or non-commercial use of gas cylinders.

In Roopnagar area, the team has seized domestic gas cylinders from Lucky Dhaba while in Pisagan block, a burner and two cylinders were seized. Besides, two cylinders and a refilling pump have been seized from a house on Beawar road. The man was found refilling cooking gas into his car.

District Collector Gaurav Goyal and the police officials on Monday directed other officials that misuse of the cooking gas cylinders must be checked upon strictly. He also directed that it should be carried out as a campaign and strict action must be taken against those who act against it.

The sub-divisional teams have been instructed to form teams and regularly check on the misuse and refilling of cooking gas. Apparently, the Beawar blast took place when the cook was trying to refill a gas cylinder through a pump.

This blast was so destructive that not only it brought down the entire building but it also claimed lives of more than half of the family members while many were left severely injured. Chairman of Rajasthan Revenue Board V Shriniwas has been appointed to probe into the matter and a meeting has been called on February 21 to discuss the matter.

Meanwhile, CM Raje expressed condolence for the people who died in the blast and has also announced a compensation of INR 2 Lakhs each for the bereaved families and INR 50,000 for the injured.
