cm-india-tday-digital-conclaveIt is a matter of pride and honor for the people of Rajasthan that this once called desert state is now transforming its image on the national and international platform. Technology is the need of the hour and to collaborate with the world towards the light of prosperity. There is no doubt that the state’s Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje owns a dynamic personality with all her energy being focused on the growth and development of the welfare of the people of Rajasthan. She also knows the significance of introducing technology and changes to achieve her goal of good governance in Rajasthan where everybody has their set of rights imparted by the Government.

CM Raje’s efforts are now being converted into fruitful results as her aim of digitizing the Public Distribution System or PDS has created a never ending success story for the people of Rajasthan. The Central Government have also identified the reforms brought by CM and her team in Rajasthan as the data shows that Rajasthan becomes the state which has seen the maximum number of reforms in PDS in a minimum amount of time. According to the sources, Rajasthan has joined the league of states that are working hard towards providing a  better standard of living to its people and has provided a boost to computerized PDS.

Under the scheme, CM Raje, and her team has been successful in digitizing all ration cards, achieving 100% Aadhar seeding and automated 96% Fair Price Shops (FPS) in a minimum time span of 2 years. Before Rajasthan, the states of Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat have digitized their PDS. The Center lauded and appreciated CM Raje and her team in a meeting held in New Delhi on the discussions for reforms and computerisation of PDS. With this rate of progress and development, Rajasthan is soon to become one of leading state with the highest GDP as planned by CM Vasundhara Raje.

Subodh Agarwal, Rajasthan’s Principal Secretary of food and civil supplies have made a presentation in the meeting at New Delhi about the progress and reforms that the state is introducing and working on the path of introducing digitization in PDS where everyone was delighted to see the progress that Rajasthan has made in the past 2 years. he also stated that Rajasthan was the first state in the country that implemented National Food Security Act (NFSA) and provided subsidized food grains to 75% rural and 50% urban population as targeted under PDS.

By August last, all the 9,916,844 NFSA beneficiaries in the state have been allowed digitized ration cards leading to 100% Aadhar seeding. Due to biometric authentication, there are very fewer chances of fraudulent practices. The Government also left a scope that if the biometric authentication is not approved off for three times, then the grains will be distributed offline. This offline PDS will be monitored by the officials.

The next step in the process as stated by Subodh Agarwal is to computerize the supply chain management to complete the end-to-end computerisation of TDPS. It will ensure to convert Rajasthan into a developed state in the coming years under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
