Asaram’s Interim Bail Plea rejected by High Court

The self-styled and self-proclaimed Godman Asaram Bapu and his supporters have some bad news for this morning as his interim bail plea has been rejected by Rajasthan High Court. Asaram has applied for the interim bail on the medical grounds referring to the medical report by an ayurvedic doctor which states that Asaram is suffering from 12 different types of diseases. Citing the report, he asked the permission to go to Kerala for proper treatment of the issues.

The 74-year old is facing the charges of sexually abusing a 16-year old school girl. In her order, the High Court Justice Nirmal Jeet Kaur had observed that there are no serious health issues with Asaram, as claimed by the medical report issued by a medical board, as said by P.C. Solanki, who serves as the counsel of the victim girl.

“The High Court has demanded detailed medical examination after receiving his interim plea. Based on the medical report, which did not mention that Asaram to be suffering from sincere health problems, so the High Court rejected his bail plea” Solanki added.

The court also sought for a progress report on the proceedings of the two and half-year-old case, while listing for hearing a regular bail application of Asaram on July 26.
