Jaipur Abhay command center officials are in great hustle from this morning. The buzz is about lifting of a vehicle near the Nahargarh area. Between the areas of Subhash chowk to Nahargarh, the team is groping the cameras on an area of one kilometer. Rakesh Kumar is a constable in the Rajasthan police and undergoing the case sitting in front of three-panel screen. He is looking every suspected vehicle and seeing it with high zoom.

The screen also displays the list of nearby PCR. He explains it like, “Far away from the commotion on the streets of Walled City, we here at the control room carefully scan every activity. Our focus is particularly on eve teasers and people selling drugs and illegal liquor”.

Kamal Shekhawat is the additional DCP in the control room which made his fast moves in the auditorium-shaped control room carrying his wireless set. She made the directions to the control room opearators like, “I want every camera to look out for the suspected vehicle, all cameras should focus on Nahargarh, look out for high speed cars, if you find anything suspicious, send an alert to the nearest avaiable PCR”.

The work culture and the mission is not less than an ISRO mission control room for many young constables working in ABHAY. A giant video wall showcases the capturings from 500 cameras. The displayings are high resolution and covers almost every corner of the city including railway station, walled city areas, temples and bus stands. After going under the heavy survellience, they are suspecting that the vehicle lifting data is most probably a hoax one. Till they don’t get the next dial 100 call, the team is free from hassles.

The ABHAY control center operates for 24 hours with workforce of 50 officials. The work in three shifts and the shifts are led by ACP rank officials who directly reports to ADCP Kamal Shekhawat.

Their facial recognition software can also recognise the faces very effectively. In case of any suspected case, they match the faces with the database and spot them.
