The decision to end the 5-day week working hour policy has been made after several surveys and reports that were conducted by the government. It has been brought to the notice that the current 5-day week working hours are not enough to address the public concerns. As a result, the common man is not able to avail the benefit, which they are entitled to.

Since the government employees are given a considerable amount of holidays, sometimes, the 5-day week along with holidays preceding/following the weekend is problematic for the general public.

The present working hour policy of 5-days was introduced by CM Vasundhara Raje in her previous tenure. However, now when it’s being reported that it’s affecting the work, a revision is likely to be made very soon.

As per employees’ leader Mahendra Singh, “Five-day week was implemented during previous government of Vasundhara ji. It was implemented on trial basis. CM got feedback that people’s work has been affected; therefore, six-day week is considered better. As for the employees, they have been working hard and will continue to do so.
